Kuwait oil-well fire-fighting

Mark Swindell acted for the Kuwait Oil Company and the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation from an office established in Houston, Texas, on devising a procurement strategy and structuring and negotiating contracts with oil-well fire-fighting companies to respond to the blown oil wells in Kuwait following the first Gulf War. This project involved negotiations with 25 contractors including Red Adair, Boots and Coots, Bechtel and Halliburton. It included innovative payment mechanisms and solutions to insurance and liability issues.
